About
Annette Schwindt was born in 1972 in Speyer/Germany. She is a self-educated artist.
She became active in art at an early age after being introduced to different forms as a child. "I have painted and drawn since I could hold a brush and pencil," she remembers.
Thanks to an excellent art-education in high school, she gained a basic knowledge in art-history and experimenting with new techniques. By this time, she was concentrating mostly on portrait drawing, working with papier-mâché and silk-painting. During her studies in romanistics and sociology in Heidelberg/Germany she also continued working as a private artist. In her subsequent training as a newspaper-editor, she focused mainly on cultural subjects, which lead to her gaining an insight in the work of artists and gallerists. As a freelance public relations consultant she now helps other artists to present themselves and their work.
The very first of Annette Schwindt's artworks already met a big interest and even found their way to the USA and Great Britain. In addition to the fine arts, the artist living in Bonn also enjoys to write and experiment with photography.

Inspiration
Since January 2006, Annette Schwindt has been experimenting with acrylic colours and different material structures. Most of the time, her acrylic paintings are created eruptively in a spontaneous need to express herself artistically. Her choice of colour and material used reflects her current emotions and thoughts at the time. She can work spontaneously if she creates an artwork that has been ordered for a concrete room. "My paintings are never planned," she says, explaining her working process. "They emerge in layers that could be an own painting each of them. But often I'm not content with one detail and then overdo the whole painting. So the result always is one that has grown out of itself."
Brushes are rarely needed in her work. Most of the time she adds the color with rubber or synthetic fur rolls and sponges giving every layer of the painting an own character. She creates organic looking structures with different kind of spackle as well as with paper.
Her idea to get seriously involved with painting was inspired by the work of the Norwegian artist Magne Furuholmen. "Looking at the first pages of Magnes book 'Payne's Gray' that contains only pictures in different shades of grey, I suddenly felt pushed to action with bright colors myself."
