This painting was almost entirely made with a sythetic roll and a sponge. Only a few details (textures of the doors and the flower pot) have been applied with a hard bristle brush.
The painting was inspired by a photo Diarmuid had made in "the white city" of Arequipa/Peru in June 2006. The city buildings are made from a white volcano rock that makes colours shine.
This painting is now hanging in Ireland in Diarmuid's house.
