"Autumn" - acrylics and texture gels on canvas (100x30cm)

Natural Sand Texture Gel and Resin Sand Texture Gel were applied to the canvas. Along the medium axis leafs were pressed into the wet texture gel and the texture around them was created by pulling the flat part of the paintingknife quickly off of the gel. After pulling off the leafs carefully the texture gel dried overnight. Then the whole picture was primed with a mixture of Burnt Siena, Yellow Ochre Light and a few Azo Orange using a sponge. This mixture was also dabbed with pigments of dark Iron Oxide Brown. The prints of the leafs were washed again to be lighter than the rest. When this layer had dried the leaf-prints were painted golden and Gold, Titanium White and Copper were applied with a dry brush on the space around. In the end Burnt Siena and Titanium White were applied with a dry brush on the leafprints.
