Sonnenaufgang

– ordered artwork –

"Sunrise" - acrylics, Golden Flakes Gel, mod-rock, bubble wrap, cling film and paper on canvas (30x100cm)

Sonnenaufgang

This painting was ordered by a blind man who wanted to have a "feelable" painting. At the same time his girlfriend, who can see, wanted it to fit into their living room...

The canvas was primed with Burnt Siena and Oxide Black. A sun made of Golden Flakes Gel was applied in the middle with a stencil. When it was dry a circle of mod-rock pieces was applied around the sun and painted with Azo-Orange and Gold. To the left and right of this layer, bubble wrap was attached with some binder and painted with Burnt Siena. Next layer around was cling film that had been dipped in Burnt Siena and then was also attached to the canvas with binder. Last layer was some silk paper, also attached with binder and then painted with a mixture of Burnt Siena and a few Oxide Black. In the end Gold and Copper were applied with a dry brush on the last three layers.

This painting is now hanging in Wolfurt/Austria.
